Research Fello on Coastal Environments
About
My research interests are related to assessing impacts of natural and human-induced process on coastal environments and their implication to coastal management. I have been using GIS to quantify shoreline change rates and predict the position of coastlines in the future. Currently, I am working in the SECOA (Solutions for Environmental Contrasts in Areas) project, funded by the EU FP7. Recently, I was involved in the following research projects: Coastal Flooding by Extreme Events (CoFEE, funded by NERC), Morphological Impacts and Coastal Risks Induced by Extreme Storm Events (MICORE, funded by the EU FP7) and Wave Hub Impacts on Seabed and Shoreline Processes (WHISSP, funded by PRIMaRE). I have tought at undergraduate and graduate levels topics related to coastal zone management and processes and GIS.
